Don’t forget the principal

Once, as a woman walked with her son in her arms a voice spoke to her. The voice came from a cave and said: you can enter and take all you want, but you should not forget the principal thing and remember that after you exit, the door will be closed forever.

The woman entered into the cave and saw a lot of treasures: jewelry, pearls, golden coins, and money. So, she left her son on the floor and started to grab all of the things that she could get her hands on.

The voice spoke once again, you have only one minute left, you can take all you want, but don’t forget the principal thing.

When time was over, the women ran to the door with a lot of wealth and then the door closed. The woman was very happy until she remembered that her son was still in the cave. She had a lot of wealth but she didn’t have the most important thing, she forgot the principal thing. Her happiness was little, or brief, and her unhappiness was for the rest of her life.

This story teaches us a very important thing: we can do a lot of things, but we should never forget the principal thing. We can study, we can play, we can eat, we can work, we can do a lot of things, but we can’t forget the principal thing: to love God. Because if we forget the love of God, our happiness will be short but our unhappiness will be forever. But if we are worried about the love of God, our happiness will be forever, because we will achieve eternal life.
